At Home Care for Dogs:
We never knew what it was like to have a dog who routinely experienced vomiting, excessive diarrhea, or skin/ear irritations until we officially adopted Winston. Cleo has had issues with her stomach, skin, cutting her paw open, but nothing compares to Winston’s roller coaster of chaos. If you know Winston’s backstory, then you are probably just like us and wondering “what in the world?” and if you don’t know Winston’s backstory, then you can find his journey here –> (Meet the Wood Family: All About Winston.).
To sum it up; we were informed that Winston was eating out of neighborhood trashcans before we adopted him so naturally we thought switching Winston to quality dog food would be the best thing for him…it was; however, we had such a hard time adapting him to food, vitamins, and treats.
I know other fur mamas who struggle with figuring out the best option for their baby who has an upset stomach, ate something they weren’t supposed to, ear infections, etc. Below is a list of options that could work for your fur-baby; however, this is no guarantee. Just like people, all dogs will react differently to remedies and products. I recommend consulting with your local Vet before trying an option out.
We thankfully have a licensed Vet in the family so we contact him for all advice before taking initiative into our own hands. Note that these are MINOR issues. If your dog is profusely vomiting, experiencing painful skin irritations, or any other complications to an extensive degree, then you need to seek a vet immediately. Also, some medications or remedies below are NOT safe for certain breeds.
